Chung Metal proudly supplies high-temperature grade Stainless Steel 316H Bars and Rods from Da Nang, Vietnam. 316H is a high-carbon version of 316 stainless steel, suitable for elevated temperature strength and creep resistance. Through advanced manufacturing methods and rigorous metallurgical control, Chung Metal assures that its 316H products are international compliant. These bars and rods find extensive applications in pressure vessels, boilers, and heat exchangers. Our products come in different sizes and finishes and are used in industries ranging from chemical processing, power generation, and oil refining.
316H has 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and 0.04–0.10% carbon content. The higher carbon enhances tensile strength (up to 620 MPa) and high-temperature creep resistance. Yield strength is approximately 205–275 MPa, and elongation ~40%. It provides superior resistance against pitting and intergranular corrosion. Although weldable, post-weld heat treatment can be necessary owing to its increased carbon content.

Stainless Steel 316H has a higher carbon content than regular 316, which provides improved strength and makes it ideal for high-temperature applications. It can withstand higher stress and heat, making it suitable for demanding industries like petrochemical and power generation.
Yes, Stainless Steel 316H is highly resistant to corrosion, especially in chloride-rich and high-temperature environments. The addition of molybdenum enhances its resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, making it suitable for marine and chemical industries.
Yes, Stainless Steel 316H is highly weldable, and it retains excellent strength and corrosion resistance even after welding. However, it is recommended to use low-carbon electrodes for welding to maintain its corrosion resistance and structural integrity.
316H rods and bars are applied in high-temperature applications where structural stability, corrosion resistance, and strength are required. It is used in components of heat exchangers, superheaters, parts of the furnace, boilers, and reactors. Power generation, petrochemical, and refining industries apply 316H in systems under thermal stress and corrosive environments. Offshore structures and industrial boilers also utilize it where chlorides exposure and high heat are anticipated.
