Chung Metal provides Aluminium 1050 forgings with good corrosion resistance, high thermal and electrical conductivity, and great workability. The content of aluminium in this alloy is more than 99.5%, making it one of the softest commercially used grades. Our forging process results in a clean surface, grain flow consistency, and maximum ductility. Aluminium 1050 is also used in many industries, including food processing, electrical, decorative, and chemical handling, because of its non-toxic, non-magnetic, and corrosion-resistant properties.
Aluminium 1050 contains 99.5% aluminium with low amounts of iron, silicon, and other constituents. It is non-heat-treatable. Tensile strength is normally between 85–130 MPa; yield strength between 30–50 MPa; elongation is extremely high (~35–50%). It has low hardness (~30 HB). It has excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance. Mechanical strength may be improved by cold work or forging. Extremely good for welding and polishing.

Yes, Aluminum 1050 forgings can be shaped into custom designs through processes like open-die and closed-die forging, allowing for precise, unique shapes tailored to specific applications.
The ideal temperature range for forging Aluminium 1050 forgings is between 350°C to 500°C (660°F to 930°F), ensuring optimal material flow and minimizing the risk of cracking or deformation.
The forging process for Aluminium 1050 typically takes between 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the complexity and size of the part, along with the required heat treatment and finishing steps.
Aluminium 1050 forgings find applications in cooking utensils, decorative panels, reflectors, HVAC equipment, and electrical conductors. It’s softness offers it as an ideal material for producing intricate forms and parts with high-quality surface finishes. 1050 also occurs in food and beverage equipment, signs, indoor decorative hardware, and low-load mechanical components. It can be anodized and is most frequently specified for aesthetic or cleanroom requirements because it is chemically stable and pure.
