Chung Metal manufactures Aluminium 7050 forgings in Da Nang, Vietnam, for high-performance aircraft structural, aerospace, and high‑strength applications. 7050 is a Zn‑Mg‑Cu aluminium alloy that has outstanding strength, toughness, and stress-corrosion resistance. Our forging operations guarantee fine grain structure, mechanical property certification, and low defects. We ship parts like wing fittings, fuselage components, and structural connectors according to customer specifications. Aerospace, defense, and premium vehicle manufacturers trust our 7050 forgings for high-stress, fatigue-critical parts where weight-to-strength is critical.
Aluminium 7050 has ~6.2–7.2% zinc, ~2.0–2.6% magnesium, ~2.0–2.6% copper, trace chromium and other stabilizers. In the T7451 or T7651 temper, tensile strength is ~560–600 MPa, yield strength ~500–540 MPa, with elongation ~10–15%. High hardness. Density ~2.83 g/cm³. Very good fatigue strength, fracture toughness, and resistance to stress-corrosion cracking. Forging of the microstructure refines it, enhancing toughness and mechanical homogeneity.

Yes, Aluminum 7050 can be forged into shapes with tight tolerances, as it offers good strength and machinability. However, precise control over temperature and pressure is required for optimal results.
Aluminum 7050 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications due to its limited heat resistance. It is better suited for aerospace and structural applications, offering good strength at lower temperatures.
Aluminum 7050 offers high strength, excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, and good fatigue resistance. It's ideal for aerospace and military applications, providing superior performance in custom forgings.
7050 forgings are employed widely in aerospace structural components — wing spars, fuselage frames, bulkheads, and landing gear connectors. They are selected for major stress-carrying joints in aircraft and helicopters. In the defense industry, they’re employed for missile casings, aerospace structural components, and high-strength connectors. Also in motorsport and high-performance vehicles where strength-to-weight is critical. In heavily loaded frames or structural subassemblies, 7050 forgings are used in place of regular alloys. Due to their resistance to fatigue and corrosion, they are best used in harsh structural applications.
