Chung Metal provides Aluminium 1070 forgings that provide superior purity and workability. With 99.7% aluminium content, 1070 is recognized by superior corrosion resistance, ductility, and reflectivity. Aluminium 1070 is extensively used in the food and electrical industries, where conductivity and formability are paramount. It is best for applications needing precision-shaped, corrosion-resistant pieces with high visual or surface attractiveness.
Aluminium 1070 has approximately 99.7% aluminium with low iron, silicon, and trace levels. Tensile properties have values of 90–140 MPa, yield strength of 30–50 MPa, and elongation is extremely high, typically over 40%. Hardness is low at 30–40 HB. It has good thermal and electrical conductivity and is not heat-treatable. Its forged shapes retain high ductility and corrosion resistance, particularly in neutral or mildly corrosive conditions.

The forging process for Aluminium 1070 typically takes several hours, depending on the complexity of the part and size. Heating, shaping, cooling, and finishing stages each contribute to the total time.
Aluminum 1070 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications due to its relatively low melting point and limited strength at elevated temperatures. Alloys like 7075 or 2618 are better suited.
Aluminum 1070 offers excellent corrosion resistance, high electrical conductivity, good formability, and high purity, making it ideal for custom forgings in applications requiring strength and durability with minimal impurities.
Aluminium 1070 forgings find applications in busbars, wire connectors, transformer pieces, reflectors, light fittings, food-grade fittings, and decorative trim. They are best for applications requiring high electric conductivity, i.e., electrical enclosures and terminals. 1070 is also employed in architectural detail, chemical storage, and equipment demanding deep drawing and bending. Due to softness and purity, it is generally anodized or polished for appearances.
