Chung Metal’s Aluminium 1060 forgings offer a combination of purity, formability, and corrosion resistance. With aluminum content of approximately 99.6%, this alloy is best suited for applications requiring good conductivity and simple shaping. Our forgings are made under controlled thermal conditions to guarantee dimensional stability and fine grain structure. Aluminium 1060 is used extensively in industries where high corrosion resistance and formability are paramount, e.g., electrical, chemical, and food processing.
Aluminium 1060 has 99.6% aluminium, with impurities of trace iron and silicon. Low tensile strength (~90–140 MPa), yield strength of ~35–50 MPa, and elongation of 40–50%. Hardness is low (approx. 35 HB). Very good electrical and thermal conductivity. Not heat treatable, but cold working slightly increases strength. Very good corrosion resistance in mildly acidic and neutral environments.

Aluminum 1060 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications due to its low strength and relatively low melting point. It is more suited for applications requiring excellent corrosion resistance and formability.
Aluminum 1060 offers high corrosion resistance, excellent workability, good weldability, and enhanced electrical conductivity, making it ideal for custom forgings in industries requiring lightweight, durable, and malleable components.
The forging process for Aluminium 1060 typically takes several hours, depending on the complexity of the part, with heating, shaping, and cooling stages. Each stage varies based on specifications.
1060 forged parts are used in electrical connectors, busbars, decoration panels, chemical tanks, and reflective lighting elements. It is also employed for food processing components and external architectural applications demanding good surface finishes. Because of its softness, 1060 is ideal for complex shapes and components requiring high ductility. It’s also utilized in signs, reflectors, and enclosures that need anodizing or surface treatment.
