Chung Metal supplies Aluminium 1100 forgings where high corrosion resistance, formability, and thermal/electrical conductivity are needed. This commercially pure aluminium alloy (99%) is suitable for non-structural, non-load-bearing, and decorative components. Our forging process preserves the alloy’s superior ductility and surface finish quality while enhancing dimensional accuracy and grain structure. Aluminium 1100 forgings are used in food processing equipment, electrical conductors, and decorative fittings, providing superior resistance to chemical exposure and fabricability.
Aluminium 1100 contains 99.0–99.6% aluminium, along with impurities of iron and silicon. It cannot be heat-treated. Tensile strength is 90–150 MPa, yield strength is approximately 35–60 MPa, and elongation is 35–50%. Hardness is low, around 35–45 HB. Electrical and heat conduction is very high. It is greatly resistant to chemical and atmospheric corrosion and retains its characteristics well over a period of time. Forged pieces have good surface finish and formability.

Aluminum 1100 forging allows custom shapes like rings, discs, bars, flanges, stepped shafts, and intricate profiles, ideal for aerospace, automotive, and industrial applications requiring high corrosion resistance and ductility.
Aluminum 1100 is unsuitable for high-temperature forging applications due to its low melting point and poor strength at elevated temperatures, making it better suited for cold working or low-temperature uses.
Aluminum 1100 offers excellent corrosion resistance, high ductility, good thermal conductivity, lightweight properties, and exceptional workability, making it ideal for custom forgings requiring precise shapes and resistance to harsh environments.
Aluminium 1100 forgings find application in cookware, HVAC units, chemical storage, food process components, electrical bus bars, and architectural decoration. Their high resistance to corrosion makes them suitable for components that are exposed to moisture or mild chemicals. Their softness and malleability provide ready formability into custom shapes. 1100 is also well suited for application in equipment where cleanliness, hygiene, and smooth surfaces are essential, e.g., pharmaceutical and kitchen processing equipment.
