Chung Metal exports Aluminium 5082 forgings from Vietnam, Da Nang, providing corrosion-resistant, moderately strong aluminum components. 5082 is a magnesium aluminum alloy with satisfactory corrosion resistance and heat stability. Our forging operations yield clean, defect-free, dimensionally correct parts with certified mechanical properties. We provide forgings like rings, blocks, and structural connectors. Applications in marine, automotive, structural, and architectural industries rely on our 5082 forgings for durable, weldable, and lightweight components. Our forging capability ensures consistent quality, improved fatigue strength, and longevity.
Aluminium 5082 has ~4.4–5.2% magnesium, ~0.25–0.7% manganese, minor chromium, and balance aluminium. Under H strain-hardened condition, tensile strength ~300–330 MPa, yield strength ~145–200 MPa, and elongation ~10–15%. Hardness moderate. Density ~2.68 g/cm³. The alloy has good resistance to corrosion, particularly in seawater environments, good weldability, and fair fatigue. Forging enhances structural quality, minimizes defects, and improves microstructure.

Aluminum 5082 offers high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, good weldability, and enhanced fatigue resistance, making it ideal for custom forgings in marine, aerospace, and structural applications.
The forging process for Aluminium 5082 typically takes between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the complexity of the part, size, and the specific forging method used.
Aluminum 5082's workability, characterized by good machinability and medium strength, allows for easy shaping during forging. However, its relatively low work hardening rate may require careful temperature control.
5082 forgings are employed in marine pieces, fuel tanks, boat fittings, and saltwater-exposed structural pieces. Also in architectural frames, outside structures, and support arms. In the automotive, employed in frames and chassis pieces where corrosion becomes an issue. In water storage and pressure vessels, piping, and handling pieces, 5082 forgings are dependable. Due to its weldability and corrosion behavior, it’s also utilized in food or chemical processing parts in mild conditions. Its lower weight and strength make it a suitable all‑purpose forging alloy.
