Chung Metal manufactures premium-quality Aluminium 6063 forgings for architectural and general-purpose usage. Acclaimed for its enhanced surface finish and superior anodizing properties, 6063 is an aluminium-magnesium-silicon alloy providing a combination of strength and appearance. Our forging process refines the alloy’s grain structure and mechanical uniformity, ideal for components that need precision as well as a clean visual quality. Aluminium 6063 forgings are typically applied in building, consumer products, and transportation.
6063 has 0.45–0.9% magnesium, 0.2–0.6% silicon, with small amounts of iron, copper, and chromium. Tensile strength in the range T5/T6 temper is 200–270 MPa; yield strength is 150–200 MPa; elongation is ~8–15%. Moderate hardness (~70–90 HB). Excellent corrosion resistance, particularly outdoors. Weldable, anodizable, and cold workable. Heat treatable for added strength.

The forging process for Aluminium 5082 typically takes between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the complexity of the part, size, and the specific forging method used.
Aluminum 5082 offers high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, good weldability, and enhanced fatigue resistance, making it ideal for custom forgings in marine, aerospace, and structural applications.
Aluminum 5082's workability, characterized by good machinability and medium strength, allows for easy shaping during forging. However, its relatively low work hardening rate may require careful temperature control.
6063 forgings find their application in door and window frames, railings, display fittings, light components, furniture, and automotive trim. The alloy is particularly suited for applications where the appearance and surface finish are critical, particularly when anodized or polished. Its moderate strength coupled with corrosion resistance makes it suitable for both interior and exterior structural and decorative applications. It is also used in heat sink elements, tubes, and decorative components.
